Eight is a mattress cover that can learn your sleep routine and heat the mattress up to the perfect temperature - you can even set two temperatures for either side of the bed! Luna can also track your sleep states, such as heart rate and breathing, and sound its built-in alarm to wake you up in the morning.

The Bediator, while not quite a bed, is an energy efficient heating system on which one can lay comfortably like a bed. The Bediator folds out of the wall with a push of a button and has the capacity to warm or cool an entire room, eliminating the energy bills required to run a regular radiator.

Clean Closet utilises molecular technology to scan the clothes hanging in your wardrobe for any dirty stains and spots, then proceeds to clean and freshen them. Effectively, the Clean Closet combines wardrobe, washing basket, washing machine, and dryer.

First Alert’s Wi-Fi Safe is enabled with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, allowing it to be locked and unlocked with a smartphone. SmartPlate is an intelligent plate that tracks and analyses the nutritional information of the food you put on it. The SmartPlate can help ensure you get the nutrients you need, don’t overeat, and control your portions correctly.

This technology is in the concept stage by designer Anthony Ortiz.

Set to Mimic captures remembered tastes from your brain and then changes the taste of the food you’re eating to that of the food you love. The plate works by placing a non-invasive transparent gel patch with a microchip on your head, that then helps to mimic the sensory smells and tastes of your favourite foods while you’re eating something else. That’s right, you can eat broccoli while thinking you’re eating chocolate.

The Milkmaid is a glass jug that can monitor your milk spoilage level using pH sensors. If you’re not at home, the Milkmaid can connect to a smartphone app to tell you how much milk you have left or if you’ve left it out of the fridge for too long.

The Kitchen Hideaway employs a helmet and viewport that allow you to visualise what you want to eat in your own virtual kitchen. There’s no need for appliances as you begin to imagine cooking your meal. Robots in another location then mimic your technique as you cook the dish in your virtual kitchen, and deliver the meal straight to your door. It sounds crazy, but this could be the future.

Rotimatic can create 20 rotis, an Indian flatbread. Just put the right ingredients into the vessels at the top of the machine and it will make tasty rotis according to the thickness and softness you desire.

Memory is a coffee machine that can use handprint recognition in order to make the right cup of coffee for the right person, just the way they like it.

Phillip’s Beehive allows you to have your own bee colony in your living room, where bees will enter and exit through a hole under a flower on the front panel, and make honey in a glass hive. You can get the honey after pulling on a cord beneath the hive that releases smoke to make the bees sleepy.

Pure Towel uses ultraviolet light to make your damp towels clean, dry, and bacteria free.

The lid and seat of the Kohler Numi Toilet can sense motion, and its heat vents can keep your feet warm. It also has an air dryer, deodoriser, heated seat, ambient lighting, and music.

The Pro SmartSeries 7000 Toothbrush is Bluetooth-enabled and ensures that you brush your teeth properly. You can connect to it via smartphone app so that it tells you which part of your mouth too brush, if you’re pressing too hard, and to keep brushing until two minutes have passed.

LG’s Twin Wash System has a second washer underneath the main machine so it can do two loads at the same time. It can also connect to Wi-Fi, allowing you to remotely program the machine and get updates on your washing cycle throughout the day.

The Orbit Washing Machine has two baskets (one for whites and for colours) that you put into the machine, and they come back out the same. The detergent tray can dispense detergent based on the level of water and the load, and its spherical shape can wash the clothes in all directions.

The Jelly Laundry is a washing machine that uses vibration and sound waves to remove dirt and wrinkles from clothes. To clean the fabric, dust from the clothing attaches itself to the jelly.

Yale’s NFC Deadbolt is a door lock that you can operate via smartphone or by inputting a code on the touchscreen. You can also send digital keys to your family and friends to allow them to receive notifications whenever someone opens the locks.

With Lockitron you can check if you’ve locked the front door or not without having to go all the way back home. If the door’s unlocked, simply press a button on your smartphone or tablet, and Lockitron will lock it up nice and safe for you.

Honda’s Miimo is a lawn mower that can move by itself, and cut a pre-set measurement of grass for seven days. Unless you have a fence, you should install a perimeter wire to prevent it from going over into your neighbour’s lawn.

Airdrop is an irrigation tool that catches water vapour when it rises, and stores it in an undersoil tank. The water vapour is cooled to soil temperature and reverted to plant-nourishing H2O.

Portable fireplaces can be used indoors or outdoors, and come in different shapes, sizes, and colours. They’re quite safe to use, allowing you to keep yourself warm and cosy in cold weather.

Philips’ Hue Light Bulb can be customised, allowing you to choose what colour light you want, and program it to turn on or off at particular times. You can control the light from your smartphone, tablet, or computer.

Sengled’s Snap is a light bulb that doubles as a security system. It comes with a motion sensor, wireless camera, microphone, and facial recognition software.

Parrot’s Flower Power smart plant pot is useful when you’re away, as it has sensors that allow it to water itself for a month, as well as measure sunlight, temperature, soil moisture, and fertiliser levels. You can use an app to view the data gathered from the pot and know when your plant needs some TLC.
