8 Reasons to Choose SecureView Security Screens

comandex

On paper, most premium security screens look alike. Stainless steel mesh, tested to Australian Standards, a solid lock. Those are the basics, and SecureView has them all.

What sets SecureView EclipX apart is what it’s been tested against beyond break-ins, how it’s built, and how long we stand behind it.

1. Tested against intruders, and then some

SecureView EclipX is tested to AS5039-2023, the Australian Standard for security screen doors and window grilles. That includes impact, jemmy and knife-shear testing, designed to replicate real break-in attempts.

But keeping intruders out is only the start. SecureView has also been tested against the things Australian homes face every year: bushfire, cyclones and house fire.

2. Bushfire tested to BAL 40

SecureView EclipX stainless steel doors have been tested under AS3959 and comply with Bushfire Attack Levels 12.5, 19, 29 and 40. In bushfire-prone areas, that means your security door also helps defend against ember attack.

3. Cyclone tested

For homes in cyclone regions, SecureView EclipX has been tested to AS/NZS 1170.2 for flying debris. It withstands a 4kg timber projectile travelling at 15 metres per second.

4. Safer in a house fire

SecureView EclipX has been tested under AS1530.4, achieving a 46.6% reduction in radiant heat passing through the screen.

And because security should never trap you inside, SecureView can be fitted as a Fire & Emergency Escape Screen, with an easy-release latch that lets you get out fast without a key while staying secure every other day.

5. Backed for up to 15 years

SecureView comes with an 11-year warranty on the mesh and frame, extended to 15 years when you register online within 60 days of purchase.

6. No screws, nothing to rust

Most security screens rely on screws, rivets or clamps to hold the mesh in place. SecureView doesn’t.

CommandeX’s patented fixing system locks the mesh into the frame with a two-part wedge bonded with 3M VHB adhesive, the same type of bonding used in aircraft and high-rise construction. With no screws through the mesh, there are no weak points to attack and no metal fixings to corrode. It’s also strong enough that SecureView doesn’t need midrails, so you get a clear, uninterrupted view.

7. Built for Australian conditions, right to the coast

SecureView uses 316 marine-grade stainless steel mesh, which resists corrosion far better than the 304 grade used in many screens.

For homes within 500m of the coastline (or 2km on escarpments), there’s SaltWaterSeries, our dedicated coastal range tested to 3,000 hours of salt spray, with up to 20 years warranty when registered and maintained with CommandeX Protect.

CommandeX is a 100% Australian-owned business that started as a family company in Sydney and Brisbane. SecureView is custom made to fit your home and installed by local CommandeX dealers who measure, quote and look after you long after the job’s done.

And when you need more than a security door, the same dealer can help with window fall protection, safety screens, privacy screens and plantation shutters from the CommandeX range.
